Hi all
Just got my very first range rover.
But I am getting vibration when at below 2000 rpm in any gear.if I keep it above 2000.it is smooth.
It goes into all gears fine.previous owner says it run fine last time he used it but has been stood a couple of months.and battery was dead.i replaced battery with new one.i have been reading posts on this site.and cured all warning lights.its perfect other than the droning vibration.
I have read so many posts and there is so many possibilities what could be causing it. Like .oil change. torque converter.tyres wheels.tcm data loss.difs.etc.
I am lost lol.....please help...
Awesome site by the way.you have helped me so much already.
Thanks in advance

Welcome

I’m glad youve had some luck, new battery first as last is good shout for a RR, trickle charger too!
These things can be a nightmare to track down yourself - it’s a process of elimination.
Try to narrow it :
A) does it hum at front/rear
B) does it hum in neutral/in-gear only
C) does it only do it while driving/when parked
Try to think logically like this ^^^.

If you have the skills you can check a lot yourself easily for instance if you are concerned about diffs ; is there oil in the diffs, are they full, is oil good with no metallic bits in it?
If spannerings not for you a decent garage can track it down easily/cheaply enough if they have a lift.
If you make your own thread in the RR section you will get all the help and advice you need, and we’ll probably have a good laugh along the way :)

My guess is it’s a UJ on a shaft - that’s what I’d check first with the 2000rpm symptom, even when I had one doing the same thing I couldn’t find it, until it got worse. Play is only a little bit on times

Good luck

Hi everyone thanks for the welcome.
I will update my post later.when I do some more checks.
As I come to work this morning and realised the nsr disc was super hot while other 3 were just warm.wonder if this is causing it.seems worse when around 40 to 50 mph.
I'll update after work...
Thanks guys.

As said above, better to start a new thread in the Range Rover section. This is the Introduce Yourself section, not a technical section. You'll get more views and more help in the right place ;)
