Having a few problems with my recent acqusition the above 2004 Freelander and one of the problems is the opening of the Tailgate which is crucial because I have to load and unload my wife"s wheelchair quite a few times per week.
The problem is the Release Catch you have to pull to open it feels too loose. It"s not the whole assembly just the Catch. It does open eventually but takes a fair bit of fiddling with. So my question "Is this a regular thing and what can I do to repair it?" I have had the whole Assembly including this pull bit come away in my hand on a previous Freelander when it was frozen because I used too much force but this is different!!
