Got a little problem with my Freelander. We are down in Southern France on holiday, and on the drive down the Freelander started to develop a whining noise which appears to come from the injector pump on the engine. Pump sounds normal at idle, then whines as throttle is applied. Apart from noise car drives absolutely fine. Question is, anyone have any idea how long the pump will go on for? Does anyone have experience of this problem?

Noise turned out to be the bearings going rough in one of the pulleys on the auxiliary drive belt. Made it back from France OK, new pulley fitted, noise gone
