Check that you have power at both of the screens electrical connection plugs if ok then your problem is with the screen, if not the check out the relay and switch.

Mine packed up during the snow on the drivers side of all places. I pulled the plug apart under the bonnet below the screen and cleaned the contacts with fine wet and dry paper and wd40 and it works now :D So mine was simply a dirty joint

Hi, check the HFS relay too (R8 engine bay) .....if the light on the switch doesnt turn on when u push it then the situation becomes complicated cos that frigging BCU is involved(unless it's faulty the switch itself)

I'm in the same situation, all I have is a narrow vertical line containing a couple of elements on the driver's side and one on the passenger's side that defrosts the remainder of the screen doesn't.
Does anyone know if that means I need a new screen, there's no chips or cracks on it yet to warrant a call to the insurance company for a new one.

U need a new screen ...those thiny elements are all in parallel and the screen is divided in two halfs ..... if some of them are working it means they got feed so the system works.
