Hi

My range rover has the following issues and I am really stuck

Inside

ABS light is on
Anti Skid light is on

Air suspension is inactive and ride height is really high
All Air Suspension lights are off now

I cant use manual gears ( its Automatic) Automatic is ok but its in 3rd gear all the time

Work done

New Piston ring in the Air Suspension pump
2 new front shocks

I have been told I have some BCM errors that wont clear

Can any one help ?? I have run out of money so I cant take it to a garage

if you need more info just ask

Thanks

I'm afraid you can't really run these cars on a budget

What's the mileage on the car ? Has the gearbox ever been serviced / replaced ?

Air suspension lights are off probably as you unplugged the compressor when doing the piston ring

You will need diagnostics to sort and clear errors

Save up for an all comms
Same cost as a couple of visits to the garage !
Good luck

Hi

Gear box has been serviced last year , its done 128,000 miles

all the trouble started after I unplugged all the fuses one by one to check them

Pump is plugged and works fine

Have you tried the lock to lock reset for the steering angle sensor....??

The CAN relies on this information and will show faults in the ABS and EAS unless the SaS has been reset.

update :)

just replaced a fuse the clears all the abs and anti skid lights plus manual gears are on but only goto gear 3

that's because the air suspension is off

so tomorrow I will do a hard reset

almost there I can feel it loo :)

Funny , I have a feeling once I fix all these issues another one will pop up

Just ordered a Diagnostic tool for £90 which will read all the faults and clear them

Land Rover & Jaguar iCarsoft i930 Multi System Diagnostic Tool - SRS, ABS, Engine etc..

If any of you want the full work shop manual I have one

I am happy to sell for £9 a copy , its covers the P38 as well as the L322

its helped me loads
You can download RAVE the official workshop manual free for early L322, P38, Defender etc. I'm happy to supply on CD for 10p plus P&P:rolleyes:

Hope that diagnostics works okay
Range Rover has very specific diagnostics so only certain types work fully

Also The Workshop manual known as "Rave" is widely available for free

Don't hold your breath only diesels after 2004 have to be OBDII compliant. If it works i will be most surprised.

Don't think you will make much with that offer. RAVE for the L322 up to 2006 is freely available on line.

I think the clue is in the Advert, Land Rover & Jaguar diagnostics, ie post BMW vehicles.

As far as i am aware according to EU regulations all petrol vehicles had to be OBDII compliant after 2001 and all diesels after 2004 engine wise. However i think even after those dates on some vehicles certain manufacturer specific other system still were not. More modern vehicles may well be fully compliant.
