Hello all,

Quick question: what tool can one use to stabilise inner track rod in one place in order to give the outer track rod a gentle nudge so it starts turning using a spanner and a hammer? Inner track rod is I think 15mm.

It might help somebody who is dealing with a stuck track rod end.

I ended up using STANLEY FMHT0-74886 250 mm Fatmax Locking Mole Grip Curve Jaw Pliers to lock the inner track rod, and STANLEY Adjustable Demolition Wrench 10" to turn the track rod end (it was fatter than my normal spanner). I pre-soaked everything in penetrating oil for 24h. It took some wrestling and a gentle nudge or two with a hammer, but once it started turning it was easy to remove.

I've owned a Mole wrench made in USA since I was 16 years old, that's 57 years of bashing and abuse and still works as it did when my dad gave it to me all those years ago, I wouldn't buy anything but if I had to replace it
