hi, need help from any one with Nanocom box
have a 2002 2.5 p38 auto have been using the Nanocom box to get me out of trouble until by new rf ugrade unit,

had ususal rf probs and diconnected disabled alarm using nanocom box reset the eka to new number and have been using key to open ,
no real probs there occasionaly it would loc out when i opened drivers door before the central locking had kick in so i would put in eka code using the nanoocom box

today complete lock out and where i would use the namoco boxto disarm by putting in the eka code at which time doors wouyld all unlock and sngine start now it wont disarm.
have waited to key code lock out 30 mins reset still no luck
lock doors and tried reseting an new eka code which has worked before no joy there, and even after swriting the settings to the becm when i change turn off the Nanocom and then turn on again teh eka is blank as is the key fob code only code visable is the main disable code
you can change the eka using the box for a new 4 digit code tried that still no luck and the box eeps reseting to no code showing and no ey fob showing
have original key and new key from range rover
2 question to any one can help
1/ can you reset the key fob code by adding a code in the Nanocom box alarm setting (its blank at mo and will accept new numbers) if so does that then sink with the key fob, i have been able to reset and set up a new eka code before this time for some reason it wont.
2/ as i hav tinkered with alarm setting does any one know the exact alarm settings using a Nanocom box ie enable disable dm +key fob or 1hit,
lazylock? or doors = drivers or all
there is a utility in the Nanocom that offers the option to change alarm settings i want to reset them all see if that helps

should add when i first found a prob i attached Nanocom box it was blank would not power up found a 5 amp fuse had blown in the cars fuse box replaced it powered up

any help much appreciated if i figure it out today will post
 
I would advise you to read the instructions properly before doing anything else. Or you are in for a world of pain. Change NOTHING unless you keep a record of original settings. You cannot change the EKA code.

think im in the pain, yes kept original codes, but found if you use the nanocom there is an option to change the 4 digit eka code and replace it and write it to the becm have done that in the past with no probs in past this time not sure why its not allowing me

also further to another forum a guy had a proble that the car was programed to lhd so once progrm to rhd it worked for what ever reason my nanocom box is saying my car is lhd and manual it is rhd and auto when i write the setting it keeps reverting to say it is lhd man

need some one that has one of these boxes and can confirm the factory alarm settings that might be a start, in the mean time i have changed all the relays and checked all fuses

As far as i know the EKA code is locked into the BECM on manufacture it cannot be changed. It can be disabled for certain markets that don't use it but cannot be changed. If your BECM is unlocked you can read the EKA code and the FOB code. If it is locked you cannot. The generic EKA code for NAS market that does not use individual codes is 1515. Seems like you have got yourself in a bit of trouble. Rick the pick maybe your only helper.

If you were able to program the BECM to change the EKA then it sounds like someone had already tinkered and unlocked it because the Nanocom won't do it. I don't think you can program the fob either but I might be wrong.

If you go in, what are the settings in the BECM? Is the default language English? Is it RHD? Does the engine type etc match up? If not, it may have gone into an Alarmed State and you'll need Mozz or Rick-The-Pick to help.

Lazy locking etc. is just the behaviour you want. Worth disabling the alarm and immobiliser though. I don't thing you can do anything without getting it clear first though. Again, might be wrong. Mozz is the man when it comes to getting these beasts started.

becm is in unlocked state as far as i can see
i kept original there are 3 codes altogeither

ist is the imobilzer which is 4 digit and present

2nd is eka which is blank

3rd is key fob which is blank

i can put in codes wher blank and write to becm and it says they have sussces write and have change eka before and it has worked with new code when i have had to disarm 6 months no probs

so i figured having tried all i would reset all settings back to factory on the allarm settings but did not keep a record of if it was key fob and dmh etc

also since disconnecting rf by pulling blue lead from box now it no longer seems to pick up signal from fob when re attached.

car goes into lock out within 3 wrong attempts i have unplug battery for hour see if that clears becm then will reconnect and wait for lock down to clear reset all codes back to orginal and write to becm and see how that works

when i disarm i can here the relay under the passenger seat clicking which normaly follows with the doors unlocking and the key code unlock resetting this time does not want to do it have checked all doors are closed properly
its a ??? at the mo ive got a 2 TON PAPERWEIGHT SITIN IN DRIVE

IF you read the instructions you would see that the EKA code consists of four numbers. NONE OF WHICH CAN BE THE SAME.

I have already explained. With locked BECM the EKA and FOB code that would be visible in that area on an UNLOCKED BECM are NOT visible. YOU CANNOT WRITE THEM IN.
 
understand can only tell you that in the box i have i can write to the becm

sounds like it might now be in a locked and alarmed state judging by the language. a job for Rick the Pick.
Shows the dangers of trying to bodge a way round a problem instead of fixing it.

spent this morning finaly sorted, unplugged all the leads bus to becm and battery hooked up the nanocom, and all codes appeared reset the eka to the original 4 digit writ settingt o becm and went into disarm and doors poped unlocked and started up 1st turn of key.not sure if that the right way but it worked for me

I think the problem arises because you are not understanding what you are doing - when you put the four digits into that box, you are not creating a new EKA code, but merely setting the correct code back into the BECM. You can put what you like in there and save it to the BECM, but until you input the actual EKA for your car nothing will happen. That's why it now works - you haven't 'reset' the EKA to the original code you've merely entered the correct EKA.

Correct, what did he not understand about. "You cannot change the EKA code". Nor can you change the EMS security code. Only write the one stored in the EMS ECU to the BECM to enable syncing.
