Hi folks.
Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the bonnet latch on a 2002 defender TD5?
Mine stands a bit proud when closed. I will have a look at the weekend but I go to work in the dark, and return in the dark so don't get much opportunity during the week. I have had a look in the workshop manual but couldn't see much in there. I guess if there isn't any adjustment I will have to shim the latch retainer somehow.
Does anyone have any ideas?
My photo may show (If you look closely) that there is a fairly large gap at the front when the bonnet is latched down. It does engage the latch fully, I've checked!:)

I guess that's a 'NO' then! I suppose I will have to stop being a lazy tw*t and get out and have a look!

Hi there just looking at same problem on my 2003 90. Was wondering if you had any joy with yours, the gap on mine is nearly an inch. Cheers.

yes
were the large spring on the bonnet mount as a dome shape screw in the middle with a screw driver slot in it you need to adjust this it works like a screw right to reduce the gap (ie makes the spring smaller) left to make it bigger
hope you get sorted and this helps
