I've had a snag where I've picked up some road debris which seems to have wrapped around the prop shaft and ripped out the chassis loom and wrapped it around the peop shaft. It's a 2001 csw with abs. Any idea where I cam source a replacement loom? I've tried Land Rover and been told its a obsolete part and no joy with Autosparks in Nottingham., as they say they don't do td5s looms as they can't source the plugs.

Uvve seen a few chassis looms on ebay for 2002 to 2006 but unsure if this will even fit. Also are.thenlooms a standard part with redundant plugs or if a specific harness for the ans models. Mine also.has the rear wash wipe and hearted rear screen. [GALLERY=][GALLERY=][/GALLERY][/GALLERY]

My go to would have been autosparks having just got complete 300tdi looms from them for my 110 after the engine fire.

How badly damaged is your loom, if they cannot source plugs could the plugs from your old loom be reused?

Sadly not as 2 of them where smashed against the propshaft and the other not reusable. The rear part is still OK ut had to be cut just past the gearbox cross member. I'm wondering if the 2002 loom will adapt, but again not an easy fix. I've spoke with a garage that does Landrover but not a franchise dealership and they have said would take a full 8 hours of labour plus parts to sort the loom. Which I thought qas high. I would expect to take that long if I was doing it. Bill would be upwards of £600 for labour then the parts ontop

When running the new loom I prefer to put it inside conduit and run it along the top of the chassis rather than through. I speeds up the install and is one less thing inside the chassis to catch dirt and water. Is it the front plugs that are smashed? the rear is all basic econoseal plugs so should be very easy to sort.

Hopefully this will work, but struggling to get the photo to load. The link should show them but they plug into the engine loom on the bulkhead.

Yes that looks about right, there's also a black 4 pin socket as well. If I could source replacements and a suitable donor harness to use would help. Unsure what part number to look for . My harness is Part No is YMD111220.

Don’t know if they are the same or not someone with more knowledge will have to weigh in but there is a 2.2 chassis harness for sale on Facebook in Wiltshire (not sure where you are based) that I stumbled across while looking for other parts.

I think if I can find a 2002 plus year harness it could be modified, but I don't know what part number to look for , if anyone could help would appreciate it. I need one that's made for an ABS 110 csw. With heated rear door window and wash wipe.

Here is the one on Facebook if any good to you. (Nothing to do with me!)

I think this is off one of the new defender's?
Could do with finding a source for replacement plugs. Any suggestions which one's to get and from where? My impression is that's its the front plugs are the problematic one's. If I have the rear of the original one I may be able to take that to autosparks to get them to make me a replacement.

From the chassis harness part number you've quoted (YMD111220), your Defender is an early TD5 (1999 - 2001).

I can supply some of the connectors you'll need for the under-bonnet connections of the chassis harness.

I have the 6-way Sumitomo male connectors - but, only in grey. The grey and green are interchangeable.

I dont have the 4-way black connector - this can be sourced from a BMW dealer -

The connector colour (Water Blue) denotes that it is a neutral or 'zero coded' (code Z) connector.
i.e. - It has no keyways, is universal and will mate with all other connector 'codes' in the series.
