Friend has a Td4 that is running with moisture every day, they have run a dehumidifier for the last 48 hrs and pulled out a litre of water so far, I the carpets are damp would a dehumidifier cope with taking the moisture out or am i been a tad optimistic in thinking it would ?

Make sure to put the heater in recirculate mode 10mins before switching off and leave like that over night. Stops any more moisture getting in.
Buy lots of cheap cat litter, put in old socks etc and put in the car wherever they'll fit. It'll pull the moisture out.

On the 3-door I've had problems with the seal to the hard top leaking. Turned out the roof just needed taking off and all the seals cleaned of grit, grit and mould. Obviously you don't have that problem. So...

Likely causes are a leaking tailgate seal, which is a known problem. Look for water in the cubby hole as Alibro suggests, then try tracing where it is getting in.

Sun roof and aerial could be another culprit.

Worth doing Mike's recirculation trick and see if that helps, if no leaks found.

I also found there are a couple of rubber grommets in the rear quarter panels that fall out letting splash water and road spray in. They are on the floor behind the plastic panels in the boot.

Replied to a simler post, cudy box is only spot welded in, gutter seal inside and out all around joint, hope this sorts it for you
