You are correct that on pre V36 EKA cannot be entered via Nanocom. However as far as I know, if the Immobiliser function is set to off, EKA should never be needed because as I said, mobilisation becomes an automatic function. In the unlikely event that EKA was needed, simply use Nanocom to turn the function back on and enter the code via the lock.
Thanks, I'll try to be sure before I do that. It would take some brave man to try 🤣

Let me explain better, on Becms older than V36 (I have a V27) you cannot insert the EKA from Nanocom. From what I understand, it may ask to enter EKA code even if this is deactivated. Could I find myself in a situation where I can't insert Eka from nanocom or even from the lock? I hope I misunderstood...

Mine's a '95 and my version is 36, I think. Marty and I went through a stack of BECMs once and came to the conclusion that only early 1994 models have the earlier software.

if you go to this site you can dowload all the manuals for NANOCOM

mine was registered in March 1995 but the Becm production date was December 1994. In previous messages I was referring to the fact that in an old discussion Rick the Pick advised not to disable the EKA (perhaps he was referring to the previous models), because in the event of an EKA block there would be no possibility of entering the code.

You have misunderstood. With EKA off you cannot enter it but you can turn it back on to enter it should the need arise. However with the immobilser turned off, the EKA should never be needed.

That sounds about right. Must have been using up stock. Mine was built May 1995 iirc.

I imagine that the software is contained in the logic board, otherwise it would have been sufficient to replace the power board with subsequent software respecting the low/highline of the BECM. it would be too easy and everyone would do it🤣
