First post, enjoying seeing the knowledge here!
Working through the various issues with my TD5 purchase that has 129k miles on it.
First noticed the waste gate might be sticking because there was a lull between changing gears as power dropped off and picked up, lubricated the pivot and that went away.

Then found when going up a hill and going to high revs in second then changing to third, all power is lost, engine continues to run pushes out clouds of unburned atomised fuel that you can smell and smoke, then if you turn the ignition on and off it restores to normal.

So far I have swapped the MAF sensor for a new one.
EGR valve and pipes have been deleted by previous owner.
Reading with interest about collapsed hoses, but the intake hose to the turbo is solid plastic nothing to collapse.
Wondering about the MAP sensor?
Have found oil getting to the ECU but not in it, so swapping the injector loom pretty soon.

Any thoughts to what might be the problem chaps?

Injector loom causes **** load of issues mate and id bet that’s the route. Makes them miss, splutter, kangaroo etc.
You need to not only replace but keep periodically cleaning the red plug as it takes time to work it’s way through. By time it has, your new harness will probably fail lol.
No I think mines taken a couple of weeks to totally clear. Have you plugged in to read for faults? I’ve had issues around fueling/power loss - started with this and think I’m about in the clear touch wood.
It’s not the plastic hose mate - it’s your rubber bends around intercooler. I.e the one in then the one into your new egr removal pipe I believe. They delaminate inside so will look fine outside but inside is either collapsing or almost porous.
It could be many things and you need Nanocom really. Fuel pump, fuel regulator, injector o rings and washers all fail eventually.
Replace your fpr as a matter of course If no record of being done. - it will let go. If you stick your finger under it you will probably find a weep and if bad you’ll see it looking like an oil leak on bellhousing.
Go for a Bosch one and fit into the existing reg housing or get a decent one not ****part

In short - you need to know what it’s doing and nanocom will tell you that!! I got mine last week but to be honest I should’ve ordered it the day I got the car!

And here’s the hoses aforementioned

If you go into the regional section it could be worth a shot posting in there. I know what you mean but you’ll need one if you don’t want to go to the garage each time
