All the years id had that truck , gone home to get my card when id forgot it.
Never occurred I coulda just taken the whole thing with me

Knew a farmer in the Highlands years ago that always left the keys in the car in case a neighbour needed to borrow it to go shopping. Maybe things haven't changed much up there?

Down here you have to be careful. Not as bad as the Wirral ...
used to be nice until we were invaded by suveners.:p:D:D

Evening all, sorry to be late to the party... I'm up the road from Glasgow, 160 miles up the road

I was down there last Wednesday with George so if it had happened I'd have done it no bother.

My old Doblo was broken into by the local migrants (not being migrantist, just they were spotted) who stole my wheels, bonnet badge and 4 fuses o_O They even stole the feckin microwave from the back  Cops not interested

Anyway, my mate recovered it to his garage as he needed the engine (it's mapped to 170bhp) so we used his wheels to get her rolling... Now the reason for this sad tale is this, we had to get her round 180 degree's so I popped my strop onto the Doblo tow ball and Georges tow ball and pulled. Now George was in hi range, but I didn't go over 1200rpm and she pulled that Doblo round like it was a Macdonalds tray of Big Macs :p

I've pulled plenty big heavy loads with George.

I digress, I'm on 3 facebook P38 forums and the chaps there are extremely helpful. Try joining this one and see if they can help out.

Ian McKee is an extremely helpful chap with a finger in the electronics side. He can usually sort out BECM problems and he also sorts you out with replacement keys/fobs and the like.

But there are loads of cracking chaps in your area chap. I went to Bonnybridge to get my interior for George and Andy Balfour was superb. He buys & sells and breaks cars. Mark Lyall from Edinburgh, another gem of chap.

I hope you get sorted out, but it's worthwhile being on FB because if you can't find the help on here (not at all dismissing LZ) then there is a good chance there will be someone nearby on FB.

Good luck :)

Edit, forgot to add Campbell Horne, pretty sure he's in the Glasgow area and another good to know bloke ;)

Thanks Doo, my replacement door latch arrived today, so I'll be swapping it soon and seeing if I can get going again, fingers crossed

You think maybe the switch inside boot is faulty also? Glad you got it home safe and sound

Your troubles have pushed me to getting around to actually having a working fob myself, before I wear the latch out and deny myself EKA. Went to see the guy I bought it off and he'd found the 2nd key,! managed to cobble one good fob together, other seems dead?

Hi, no I think the boot switch is OK, it wasn't working as apparently it gets earthed via the drivers door and a faulty microswitch in the door latch can prevent the boot opening also, fingers crossed it all works OK now as I've put all my tools in the boot today and I'm too old and stiff to climb in there via the back seat these days :D

New door latch fitted today and a jump start of my old Discovery, running again drove it home, keyfob that worked the central locking is doing so again and both start the car, plus I can now open the boot too :)
Pleased to see it's sorted :D
