Is that all:eek: Got a dirty big chip in my 300 screen last week:mad: autoglass said its got to be replaced - £490 :eek:, its bonded so must be done by them not me.

National WIndscreens fixed it for £50, laughed when i told them about autoglass.

Im on TPFT too but i'll be upgrading soon as i dont trust it not to crack and a bill that big hurts.

200 series discos use the good old fashioned rubber seal so fitting a screen yourself is a piece of ****. Have a look on ebay you might find one local they don't fetch much second hand. It really is very easy to remove or fit one.

As hughesy says it's easy to fit one with a rubber seal, Just need some nylon string to run inside the lip that sits around the bodywork and get somebodt to apply some presure to the windscreen as you pull it. Overlap the string by about a foot where the ends meet.

Should it be possible to fit a heated 300 screen to a 200?

Also smarty, would you mind expanding on how to remove a 200 screen? And to refit!

Just a basic walkthrough of the method would be very helpful!

Is there no sealant at all on a 200 screen, just the rubber seal?

Thanks in advance!! :D

All you need to do to remove it is sit inside and push the windscreen out with your feet again'st the screen(wear some boots though just in case it breaks) then place the string all around the lip of the rubber and get somebody to apply some pressure to the outside as you are pulling the string to pull the edge of the rubber in towards the inside(it's quite hard to explain). Just pull one side at a time and you will be ok. Just found a link to give you some idea of what i mean.
