Copied from one of me old freds....
This was the problem
I got these weld-on brackets from a local Indy for £12 each (I suspect that he got them from Paddocks)
I spent a happy hour and a half grinding off the old brackets and my son them came around and welded them on for me
All I need to do now is paint them.
cheers trewey
did you drain the axle and take drum off before welding? No
can you do this job from a jack or do i need a ramp? Best done with the wheels on the ground - we used a pit.
and how did your son line up the new ones? Bolted the bracket to the trailing arm before welding. Also, after grinding off the old bracket, there were still "witness" marks where it had been.
i presume the new ones have to go exactly where the old ones were,
cheers again
deano
