I've had a look around and I can't see a crystal light upgrade for the 200 tdi disco like you can get for defenders and classic rangeys. Now I understand there is a lower customer base for 200 tdi specific lights but surely there is something available for the disco to improve the dreadful lighting situation?

I know that the 300 tdi light upgrade is a possibility but I don't know if I can be bothered with the chopping and re-positioning of the mounts etc.

Has anyone happened across a plug and play upgrade for the 200tdi?

As far as I know crystal lamps are only avalable for defenders and classics , it would seem they need to be round . I put 50/100w lamps in mine and what a differance . With a bit of time and effort you can remove the lens ( you'll need a good clear silicon or the like ) and do a proper clean of lens and reflector , will be a big improvement . It's that or more torches on the bonnet !!

I've put another new light on the drivers side and will replace the one on the passengers side but the first time I go wading they will fill up and get ruined. They aren't exactly amazing when new to be honest. I stuck a set of cibie headlamps on the bumper but I am fairly sure I can't run two sets of lights and having them so close together probably isn't legal as the main lights. Its the dip beam I find to be so useless and leaving fog lights on permanently is a bit knobbish.

they fill with water cos there not meant to be immersed in mud etc . take them apart , resilicone , rember to seal both bulbs / holders . Take your time it does work , my 200 tdi disco was my garages recovery truck and you would never belive where that thing had to go , day and night .

I have decided to fit the extra set of lights. The wiring thats needed to work them from the original lights but still keep them on a switch so they can be left off if I need to ie if plods about was quite entertaining to say the least. I now have selectable 2 full sets of headlights giving me 4 dipped beam lights and non-selectable 4 main beam spot lights.
