Not necessarily, and more than likely not at all.

But as a V5 is not a document of ownership, but is in fact only a document of the registered keeper, it is entirely possible to. And in order to even consider it, it'd take some previous knowledge or understanding of the individual I would be buying from...

Hence reflecting on the matter on a forum where the seller is an established member. And reflecting on potentially maintaining an interest in the vehicle for when it returns to the market with the proper documents.

Not entirely sure you needed your rolling eyes, to be honest.
