Not a happy bunny
Landy was driven about three weeks ago and all was well, Its been parked up outside me house since and not turned a wheel. Me and the boy went to go out in it for the day. It started first stabb of the key and we were all set until i put me foot on the clutch pedal and there is absolutley nowt there!! No resistance on the pedal at all, screwed the top off the master cylinder and found the fluid low, checked for leaks and can see nowt and when you pump the pedal the fluid becomes full of bubbles.
So is me master cylinder fooked do you think, I havent had time to look any further due to other commitments.
Your thoughts greatly appreciated

check round the clutch pedal for signs of clutch fluid dripping down. if none found suspect slave cylinder.

Just been out and checked the pedal and cant see any signs, Never changed the slave cylinder before but hear horror stories about the clip on the clutch fork coming off then having to remove the gearbox!!!
How bad can it be????

Right finally got under the bonnet of me landy and clamped off the hose to the slave cylinder and still got no pressure against the pedal, does the collective think that this would indicate a master cylinder problem rather than anythin else further down the line

Not true - if it falls off (it won't if you're carefull and it is clipped in you would need to be heavy handed) all you need to do it fish it out then bugger about with the clip taped to the rod and sort of reinsert it. Not a big deal - first time I changed the slave way back in the day I remember I just pulled it out (not knowing anything about the rod on the clip) and it just sat there, I rebuilt the slave and stuck it back in. Now that was without a conscious effort to keep it safe. People who tell you the box needs to come out are being daft and didn't think it through - if they can repair your heart through a hole no bigger than your little finger, you can get a rod and clip back in a hole about and inch and a half in diameter! There is even room for a maglite!
