Evening all,

I have fitted a replacement transfer box to my 300tdi disco (What a nightmare job!) and found the handbrake assembly seems to be completely different.

Is is possible I have fitted a transfer box from a 200tdi vehicle, would this explain why my current handbrake cable / lever is not compatible?

Is there a difference between the 200 and 300tdi transfer boxes in terms of the handbrake set up?

Any help greatly appreciated!

There is a difference between the two handbrake operations, a 200 is cable plus a rod linkage which is mounted onto the transfer box and the 300 handbrake is operated directly by cable.

That makes sense, I will try get hold of the 200tdi handbrake parts then.

why dont you just fit your old hand brake back plate assembly

As james has said, fit back plate , job done , far better setup.

My hand break is on top of my seat box, it's was like that when I bought it, it's great , more leg room.
