At christmas our disco passed 200,000 miles, so this weekend i thought i'd treat her to a good going over, i did every under bonnet fluid, then emptied all diffs (and airlined the breathers),gearboxes,Engine oils, and refilled, also i grease every prop grease nipple and the front swivel housings, when refilling gearbox i used a product called 'PROLONG' Sposed to coat working parts, anyway it now runs even better no notchy changes at all silky smooth. Oh and waxoiled every where, minging job!
It took me nearly all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i enjoyed it. just thought i'd post this as most recent posts seem to be gloom and doom.
Love popping in and seeing whats happening:D

Hi all.
My 38's done 217,000 miles but it feels a bit like the scene from Only fools and Horses........." I've ad this broom stale for 10 years (or whatever it was), it's ad three andles and two heads !" Ahhhhh the joys of land rover ownership.

Cheers, Nick.

yup, my disco passed 200 thou on the way down to spain in november ans she's still going straong, like nj says tho, its a bit lke triggers broom ;)

238,987 on a P Reg Disco then the Head gasket blew, taking the head with it. (South bound on M1, last October).

Replaced the head and gasket to find the cylinders and pistons were shot as well. Sold for Spares / Repair for £800 to a bloke in Leeds.

Bought a 200 TDi for £1000 and have racked up 25,000 on that since November.

Always buy a Lanny now.

k reg 200tdi now on 291 000 and still going strong on original engine but still a bit like triggers broom
anyone got a cure for a leak on the throttle spindle on the injector pump?

Oh, how I wish my Disco could have so many miles and still be alive I only have 143,678 miles on it. My Dad's Ford F150 has 360,000 no, that's not a typo, and it's only a '98!
