Afternoon,

The time has come to replace a few tyres, so im weighing purchasing some 20" wheel&tyre combo.

Looking at my local dealer & Dbay there around the £800 mark.

Has anyone got these on theres, i just want to know a few thing first:

Ride - is it effected much
Whats the best tyre size, 295/40/20 or 275/40/20 Will a narrower tyre will give me a better ride as the profile will be higher?

Any one got any photos with these on?

Thanks, Jay

I have 22's mate, and the smallest profile you can imagine for a range rover. the ride is absolutly fine, i had a p38 with normal wheels and the difference is nothing really, it just corners a bit better

i got 22 on mine as well and its just like he ^ says there bang on, as long as the steering components are all good other wise they might amplifie some problems.

had 2 p38's in today. one had 295 40 20 on and the other had 275 45 20 on.

the 275 45's looked a lot better they filled the arches more.

what is the correct size tyre for 20" rims ?

Bare in mind, if it aint put to yer insurance company, your insurance isnt valid as it isnt original option.

I've had some reasonable quotes but with tyres that i've not heard of before!

Anyone come across Strata or Wanli tyres?

wanli tyres are bloody terrible tyres, chinese crap.never hears of the other make though.you would be better of fitting part worn well known branded makes rather than the wanli crap.

I have just fitted 22's with 285/35's, and to be honest there is a little more movement and stiffness in the car but not anything major, and the road holding is so much better as for tyres buy the best tyres you can afford it really pays. I had Khumo fitted and im really pleased with them..

Guys,

I was going to go for a set of 20 or 22's for my p38 but someone has put me off and mentioned that it can damage the diff?!!
Can anyone tell me if this is correct?!!

Thanks,

T.

some one filling you with ****e, how can wheel size affect a diff. unless you got 22s on one side and 16s on the other the diff dont know any different.

Just going back to the Diff etc and gear box by putting bigger wheels on.... I was always on the understanding that by increasing the size you change the ratio and thats when you can end up with damage?

by putting bigger wheels on it only in affect change the finaldrive ratio, it doesnt effect the diffs, gearbox or any other part of the drive train. think about it, its only a bigger rolling circumference over the smaller wheel.

Wanli's are ****e! have a pair of them on the wifes car as they were the only thing I could get the day before a test. Car handled better on the worn out (illegal)Contis I took off, even in the wet!. I switched them onto the back first chance I got. They were horrible!!

I've got a 07/57 Sport with 22" Overfinch wheels. My dealer is telling me that the Warranty will not now cover steering parts/problems and that this exclusion applies to any wheels >19", even brand new Range Rovers with factory fitted 20" wheels!!
Surely not; is the dealer talking garbage? ... wouldn't be the 1st time.

had 22 on my old p38 with no probs at all but look around as you can get some good deals i paid £430 for mint stormer alloys with toyo tyres with a good 6-7 mm tread left remember you will also need wheel nuts and spiggot rings these will cost you £100 if you want lockers and also if the eas gives up it will not be able to be driven on the bump stops hth

i got a cheep Strata tyre once it was crap realy soft rubber only lasted 6k
that said though it was only £70 new
