Thanks.

Saw the Devon 4x4 site but cannot see your winch mount. They also seem to be considerably more expensive than you unless the conversion rate is the other way around!

I like the more discrete mount on the right-hand side of the RR-Evolution webpage: the 429E one.

Might be asking stupid questions here but just to be sure:

1) will it (the mount) take the full weight of the car to pull it out of a muddy hole?

2) What else do you need? A winch, obviously, but anything else? Big leads to connect to the battery. I assume you connect direct to the battery rather than take that through the fuse box?

3) What sort of winch would you recommend if the idea was only to use it a few times a year in cases of extremis?

4) Where in France are you? I suspect postage would not be cheap!

Cheers,

J

Devon seems to delete the product of the database.

1 GBP is around 1,30 euro

1) Yes it has been designed on the basis of the land rover official winch mount. Same frame mounts. High tensile bolts provided.
Everything has been designed for maximum strength.

2) You'll need a winch and a quick release electrical winch connector that goes to the battery.

3) I don't follow Land Rover recommandations about winch capacity choice. For them a 9000lbs is ok for a Range Rover. (P38 accessories catalog)
I've chosen a 13000 lbs winch to follow the rule of twice the weight of the vehicle.
I uses a Yeti Winch with a synthetic rope.

4) I'm in Paris area. Already sent some heavy parcels all over the world without any damage.
That winch setup already sent to USA to SoCalUsedRovers.
Delivered one once in UK to a very nice chap of landyzone.co.uk:cool::cool:

Cheers
