Sounds crap doesn't it. But this is my idea for a Defender with a very specific use.

I've been building and driving Land Rovers for years and currently getting around in a TD5 90 I finished last year. When I was younger every Easter I would remove the roof and door tops of whatever LR I had at the time and keep it off until October, regardless of the weather. I loved it, more than any other type of convertible car, but nowadays I have actual places to be and the TD5 is quite smart so I need something else for cruising around in the sun/rain.

My ideal spec:

90
V8
Rear wheel drive only, with Salisbury axle
RWD LT77 gearbox from SD1
Lowered 3"
anti roll bars
Wide wheels with road tyres
painted something bright. like yellow
no roof, bugger all trim, plastic seats etc
No other crappy accessories, just basic bodywork.

So what do you think? How fun would a RWD V8 topless better-than-normal handling little 90 be?

I have the TD5 for off road and towing.
Topless cars don't do it for me, topless Land Rover however is great

In all seriousness I doubt with one live axle that you could actually lay all the power down without massive wheel spin and would in fact be blown away by a hyundai amica auto:eek:

bull****, a rover V8 has sweet F all power, its not exactly running a blown hemi 440

a dodge pick up manages to lay down more power on a rear axle without wheel spinning all over the place but it does have the ability to

Sounds crap,
cummins, luzfe or more power with large yank v8
Some are running between 200 and 400 hp on here.

261hp in mine
