I am looking for a 2” spring lift.

DAP sells a type of spacer but that’s not what I mean.

Monroe sells shocks that can do the trick.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
 
I would suggest looking in the magazines. Try ringing Paddocks or someone like that. They should be able to help or at least point you in the right direction.

Just got a full set of coils for my 80 Series Cruiser.50 mm (2") higher than standard. Best springs money can buy, and resonable price too.
Only thing is, I'm not sure if they do 'em for Freelanders. If they do, they will also have the O.M.E. shocks as well.

Old man does not have springs that fit a Freelander.

Ironman on the other hand do.

They cost 380 Euro. Hhmmmmmm

L.A. Supertrux also has coils that can do the trick.

They only cost 280 Euro.

any updates on the 2 inch lift looking to do it myself and are people fitting a slightly larger tyre if so what size .
i was thinking of a AT maybe cooper/goodyear ?? 215x75 or 225 x 70 x 16

This is my opinion on the latest lifts available for the freebie seeing as it's been asked. Anyone add or correct me if they see fit.

The only lifts easily available nowadays seems to be the spaces that fit on the strut tops. Cheapest and also highest quality spacers i've seen are made by an independant garage called Ants Autos Welcome | Freelander Storm. A lot of the mass produced ones available on other sites can have some imperfections and sometimes need to be filed down to fit perfect.

Springs are obviously still an option, but i'm yet to find anyone to supply any. I'd opt for the springs myself if i could find them anywhere.

I'd say tyre size depends on the engine size. 1.8K i'd say no bigger than 215/75/16's unless you do some mods for the engine to put out a few more horses... it'll need it with those larger wheels and gear configs.

Any of the diesels with more torque, go ahead and fit the 80's but get some hub spacers behind the wheels so they don't rub when on full lock.

Cheers 4 the imput mate. sounds like a cheap option worth a try if i cant find springs .
see if i get anymore imput, not had much time to do any research yet

I understand my Camel has Monroe shocks and standard springs - 1 1/2" to 2" lift IIRC.

Have you tried the Freelander Club or MAD Feeelanders or advice?

205/80/16, 28.9" dia' or 215/80/15, 28.5" dia' fit without any mods or spacers.

sqeezing a bigger tyre size on is great idea ive done this before
to aid lift kits and fill out the arch a bit

need to check out the speed difference.
but just checked out another site and found some 50mm spacers so lets see where that goes

don't buy spacers off any landy websites, they'll cost you double. Go on ebay and you can get race spec spacers for half the price. the sizes are 5/114.3 i think and then just choose the width depending on how further out you want your wheels.

Or

You can get some nice new alloys with a different offset. I think standard landy alloys have a 38mm offset (correct me if i'm wrong, going off memory) whereas you can get alloys with much more offset to give more space without running spacers.
 
as per my recent thread the previous owner of my TD4 had the rear springs replaced by a local garage - not sure if they put HD ones in it for towing (caravan socket present on my towhitch) but the rear is 1.5 to 2" higher than my mates TD4.
 
Be carefull with lifting a freelander - as its a independant suspension, your drive shafts will be at an incredible angle which in turn will knacker your drive train ird vcu etc.
 
can't see how it pits more strain on the drive train? fair enough the cv in the driveshafts have a larger elliptical force due to the elevated angle...

I'm going to whip the guard protector off my rear springs when the rain stops...if they are wrong height that I suspect I'll be putting standard ones back

or lifting the front with spacers either way.

lots of reports I've seen with thousands of miles on a freebie lift and the mechanics are still coping strong.

up to your own judgment and how desperate you are for an extra 50mm ;)

It's better than no 2"! Looks good!

I'm getting mine sorted next week - as you say it certainly won't make a huge difference but after some recent outings I'm taking every extra mm under the car I can get!
