just been under my Disco 2 and seen 2 female connectors while changing the transfer box oil...

picture attached -

any ideas?

they look like vacuum lines for EGR maybe but im not sure .What are the lines connected to on the other end ? on a side note your chassis looks brand new
 
Cheers guys - they are def female terminal connectors, they just have massssive sheaths on them. i could see one of the wires which was black, not sure of the other.

MTurri - i don't think they'd reach... they are litterally hanging down near the starter...
 
I'd bet those are glow plug connectors #3 and #4, they can be plugged in any order (even mixed up with the other 2 if cable length would permit). Look for the engine harness split underneath the inlet manifold somewhere between #3 and #5 cylinders, from where the thick starter motor cable runs down. Your two loose cables should also run from there, just pull them up through the inlet manifold and connect them.
