yeah but i want the mud tyres to fit :L and the extra clearance, and a departure angle that means my fuel tank doesnt drag through everything.

A lift kit will not raise ground clearance at all. The larger tires will, but not by that much. Unless you're planning stoopid large tyres, which will **** you off after a few days of driving round & sounding like your driving a JCB.

I've had 235/75/16 Insa Sahara's on a std unlifted disco. I've also been done parkamoor lane (and others) in a bog std disco on 235/70/16 road tyres. It went everywhere that several tricked up disco's and defenders went. inc a 90 with massive lift and detroit lockers. Only time it's needed winching, so did most of the other peeps there.

why are some on here so against modifing a disco ? most people on here thinks you should leave them standard height and standard tyres , no wonder the green lanes get in such a state

This doesn't make any sense

If you need a lift and big boots to pass a lane you shouldn't be on it

a 2" lift only helps when going thru water coz it keeps the electrics that bit higher and the likelyhood of water ingress that bit less.

Good internet connection from your tent...

Back at Minty's now.. 2 days in Jockshire was enuff fer me  Went to visit Hadrians Wall on the way home.. Am thinking of putting in a tender to rebuild it.. :D :D

Hmmm . After reading that thread I may think twice about lifting it :/ ive hardly got the money for the lift and would be screwed if it cost more :( decisions decisions :(

I'd say go for it if you want,I did mine(+2") and it's been fine,it dosn't chew the prop doughnut,it dosn't vibrate and it handles fine and I've done about 5000 miles since it was fitted.
Some are ok and some aren't but if your not happy with the results you can always take it back off.
