my td5 d2 has two faults which i would like to rectify....

A dim tail light on the passenger side....

And rear wash not washing,it wipes as it should but nothing from the pump
The pump does work and I’ve tried a second hand switch

Tail light: I would look at the earth. If it's bad the indicator and reversing light on that side will also be dim. Failing that, connector / bulb holder.
Washer: the non return valve in mine failed and blocked the pipe. You have to take the door card off to get at it. You do know that when the washer level gets low the front washers still work but the back doesn't?

Thanks for tips re light.will give that a look over later.
The washer does work if I connect the front one to it for purposes of testing, the pipe is clear, and does spray fine it’s iust my switch isn’t getting the power to the motor.
Yes Iv had it filled to the neck aswell.
Cheers

Sorted the light but never got to the bottom of the the rear wash.
Very frustrating,Iv done a google search and read about fuseboard and possible bcu faults?

Then you have to see if there is earth in the switch and if it is bridge the pins and see if that earth gets to the BCU input to rule out the circuit

Forgive me,I only know very basic electronics, how would I perform the above?
Thanks for your reply.

Sorry, i had a dumb moment as i was watching the wiper switch's diagram, for the rear washer pump check fuse F30 interior fusebox and if it's good measure with voltmeter to see if you get 12V across body and pin 1 of the switch and if you have bridge with a wire pins 1 - 4 and measure in the pump's plug
