Hi all. Just a quick one. Do the drivers footwell and it's adjoining side panel unbolt from early Range rover classics. Mine are rotten and need to be replaced. I know the later classics have spot welded inner panels but was wondering if the earlier ones are easier to remove?

Thanks all.

No bolts on my 1975 two door when I had it just lots and lots of welding !
Thanks. Maybe that one had previous welding work done before the rot got hold again. I can see lots of bolts on mine but I can't tell how difficult it would be to get the panels out by removing them. I thought I heard from someone years ago that 2 doors were all bolted and not welded together :-/

On the very early ones a lot of panels esp the transmission tunnel were bolted.
But you're going to have to look at what yours has got before you can make an informed decision as to what is necessary & then see what's available from such suppliers as YRM & Froggatts.
An internet forum can't give you the answer.

Are you talking about the bulkhead side panel ?
The footwell and bulkhead side panels are spot welder. the transmission tunnel is bolted/screwed in. the method of removing the gearbox is through the door, hence seats unbolt transmission tunnel comes out heater box unbolt and access to the top of the bellhousing, gear is clutch etc is gained.

Hi. Yes I am. There are lots of bolts on the footwell and the bulkhead side panel unlike a later 4 door that I had previously done the same work on. It certainly looks like they should unbolt. Anyway, I just thought I'd ask on here to get some pointers. Thanks.
