I have a tired 2.5 diesel and i have been thinking of swaping it for a better engine, i've heard of some defenders having the M52 2.8 bmw engine in but i can't find any write ups of anyone doing this swap. Does anyone have a link to any info regarding this engine conversion?
I know this engine came in some landys standard for a little while but surely people have done it themselves aswell. I have had two M52 bmws and would really love to have that engine in my defender, any help would be great.

They were only built in South Africa, where for a time Land Rovers were built in the BMW SA factory.
I've never heard of a retro fit, but if any one has, I'm sure we'll soon hear about it.
