Hi,
Does anyone know how many studs hold the bellhousing onto the gearbox? I have removed everything I can find, including the 2 hidden below the starter motor and all the top ones and the engine will not split. I have removed half of the studs as well but it still wont budge - is there a reverse facing bolt or something else holding it together?

Diesels should be sealed with gasket sealant. Prob stuck solid, try lowering it slightly and use a prybar or thin chisel to try and get it to crack.

are you getting any gap at all when wiggled about ?
