Hi
1997 2.5 DT Auto. Runs fine when cold and hot, but on stopping and changing from drive to reverse just cuts out, and from reverse to drive.
Anyone come across this and offer any advise.

I had this problem when changing to reverse and drive had it on diagnostics and it came up with fuel quanity actuator in the fip change the pump for a recon and all was well. I jist held the revs to 900 1000rpm and dropped it in gear so it didnt stall until I done the pump.

I was told that by doing that I was taking over the pump increasing the idle when the load (drive or reverse) was engaged. Basically the pump lost the automatic idle advance due to the failure of the fuel quanity actuator.
 
Hiya Wammers. Mine seems to stall when putting into drive or reverse after ticking over for a few seconds and injector light comes on when lifting off suddenly. Tick over speed related? Ta.

Needle lift sensor of fuel quantity stop in Fip, do a search. Wammers is the man with the knowledge.
