a deal has just come up, and its hard to miss. problem is my 2.25 pet is going nicely at the moment.

but its a defender 2.5 TD (or so the guy says)

this sounds like its a 200tdi to me. and its only clocked 150 000kms

also I hear the defender 200tdi doesn't have a problem with the turbo being too low

so any advice on this. is it worth swapping a working petrol unit out? (I would like better fuel mileage)

do any engine mounts need to be moved. and does it bolt straight onto the series 3 gearbox, also how does the flywheel and clutch stuff fit?

If it's a TD then I'd say go for it. As long as it's in very good condition. if it's a 200tdi it'll wreck the drive train and the series brakes aren't up to stopping a series doing in excess of 55mph.

Do a Search this has been covered more times than Mod1 has been told to fook orf..

I have TLS 11" drums all round. braking doesn't seem a problem.
