If I remember rightly (16 years ago), when I converted my mk1 Astra do a Weber DTML, it came with a fixing kit to allow it to fit a variety of engines. There were blanking plates and coolant water bypasses and all sorts for Auto Choke (Cortina mk IV and V, VW Scirocco).

I think this is summat t'do with autochoke and should be blanked off - my Astra had a nice red plug on the end of it - shame it back fired through the carb, set fire to the air filter and 5 minutes later was no more

that goes into a 'T' piece coming from your elbow air inlet.

Thanks Nobber.

Confused of B'stoke

i have setup as per your first pic, but underneathe the "T" piece connector is another small "vacuum" pipe which is connected to dizzy. Your "Dizzy" pipe is unconnected:eek:
will try and take piccies

are the connections on dmtl's generic?
i mean , does it rea\lly matter which pipe the dizzy's connected to so long as its a vacuum?
perhaps the other for a vacuum gauge on your dash or some other tuning or measuring equipment?

Here is a piccy fur yu.
Yu can see the fuel inlet pipe, the pipe that runs off to the "T" and below that the small pipe going off to the dizzy. On the right hand side of the piccy yu can see the green cap over the other vacuum take-orf that yu use for the dizzy. Yu mite be right in that it doesnt matter, but as i dont know nuffink about these engines, I want to check that it is ok as it is.

the 2.3 and 2.5 are different carbs. i had a 2.5 carb on my 2.3 , you can tell the difference because the 2.5's weber dmtl has two solenoids , the 2.3 only has one.
