Hi all,
I have quite literally just bought a 1996 Range Rover DSE so I am not that familiar with them.
I have noticed that when I park it up it appears to be leaking some diesel that is dripping out from the front of the front nearside wheel arch. As far as I can tell it is only leaking fuel when it is running.
I intend to get stuck into it and have a look as soon as I get a spare 5 minutes but I was just wondering whether anyone will be able to point me in the right direction before I start.

On that side you have the fuel filter with all the fuel pipes to and from it to the FIP then from there to the injectors and leak off pipes as mentioned above.

It is a matter of checking ALL these pipes as well as the fuel filter and FIP itself, also mentioned above.
 
You need to get under the bonnet and take a look. If it is leaking from near the wheel arch more than likely the lines on the filter or the filter itself. Unless you have a cracked injection pipe spraying fuel in that direction.
 
Yup fuel pump, injectors, leak off pipes or fuel filter! there the common ones and all easy jobs except the fuel pump which is a c##t of a job

make sure the drain on the bottom of the fuel filter is tight, and make sure its diesel and not ATF fluid, on a wet floor they leave a similar mess, your powered steering ressevioure aint that far away from where your looking, mine was leaking ATF and dripping onto two pipes and ran off back that way, run a clean rag all over those areas and keep checking the rag. youll find it.

no it's not

it's just a case of removing other things to get at what you want to work on, look through my old post you'll find a step by step guide
 
Thankyou all for your input, had a look last night and there is a diesel leak from the fuel filter, so hopefully a quick fix as I am going to give it a full service at the weekend anyway.
However......... it also appears that the leak was not diesel alone, there is a leak coming from what I assume is the transmission oil cooler, not sure if its the actual radiator but at the moment I am assuming it is, dipped the transmission last night and the sump is litterally empty......not good!
Anyway I am assuming that the only fix is a replacement transmission oil cooler? found one for £190, anyone know of any cheaper?

the trans cooler is a separate radiator under the left hand front guard check the rubber pipes going to it they can split and leak fluid and some times you will have to change the rad as well as the pipes as they seize on the threads and will strip when removed

unless it's a manual gearbox then it's part of the Radiator
