have this RR for 3+ years, now at 93k miles
engine power is down a lot been to LR dealer twice recently,
they have failed to correct problem having done dont know what??
they have suggested needing recon diesel injector pump but trying to avoid it
anyone any ideas??

tank pump is common apparently.

had a similar problem last year.
took it to a diesel pump specialist who "tuned" it as good as he could.
wow wot a difference.
he also said change the fuel filter regular as this is also a common problem.
he charged me @ 80 quid as opposed to 700 for a new pump.

started from cold this morning
behaved perfectly
drove 15 miles
stopped
turned off engine for 2 mins
restarted
power down


now going back to Singland, Limerick LR Dealer

Either remove the fuel pipe from the filter, OR the filter, switch on ign & see if there's any fuel delivery, there should be for a few seconds, if there IS, then it may well be the injector pump, BUT, mine was well down on power, had to go down to 1st to go up hills etc. did the fuel-test, nothing, the car was somehow running by fuel being drawn by the injector pump only. A new in-tank pump not only cured the problem, but the car is now a rocket, never gone like it since I've had it!!
