hey all
I have a 1992 defender ex army as a fun car but im looking to buy another defender as a daily driver. I have seen a nice 07 plate Defender 90 county with a 2.4 TDCI engine. I know little about this so can anyone give me their opinion on it? Reliable? running costs etc etc. Iv done a search but can find little. im guessing this is a PUMA??

I don't think newer defenders are all that popular on here. Why not get a late td5 one? Or do you like the fancy dash you get on the new style?

Yeah mate, its gonna take me enough pursuading to get a Defender as a daily car so the more modern inside it is the better. she wont entertain the older style so im afraid its that or nowt. unless I get rid of her!! Hmmmm lol

The newest defenders I believe have ridiculous road tax due to emissions. Would put me off. What about doing yours up, so whatever is putting you off is fixed?

I have a 07 puma. If you buy get a main dealer to upgrade software before anything else! I had lots of probs with mine that boiled down to software in the end and upgrading with anything else other than land rover software doesn't solve certain problems, it was only the 07-09 defenders that had the power loss problems but that's how it's solved
But apart from that its as capable as the td5 goes up rocks goes down rocks gets stuck gets unstuck just like any other Landy. I love mine

Well if its a 2.4 or nothing then get a 2.4.

My favorite is the td5 though.

Or heave her out the door and get what you want!
