2.4 puma starts but wont rev untill warmed up on cold mornngs once warm and revving ok all day is it a sensor if so witch one
the inlet manifold is not dirty its fairly clear once its warmed up it runs perfect and has been ok since the last cold snap in november the map sensor had not been out and cleaned since vehicle was new 135000mls ago only now its gone cold again its playing up again ,also nothing showing on diagnostic tablet . i spoke to local land rover mechanic about egr he said the way ive disconected it only direct air passing through so no recirculating , must be a sensor i might try cylinder head temp or. water temp sensor as these apparently control ecu fuel/air supplyDid you fix the faulty EGR valve? If not, I would be looking there and getting it sorted. And may need to clean the inlet manifold out, probably gunged up (I recall you posted that the MAP sensor was well and truly cacked up, the rest of the inlet system will be just as bad).
Unless its stuck in the open position, in which case it will constantly be passing exhaust gas into the inlet -------spoke to local land rover mechanic about egr he said the way ive disconected it only direct air passing through so no recirculating

Thanks for your helpOK, I'll butt out and leave you to it.
windblower i started her today frosty morning ticked over for 2 minutes then stopped i restarted and sat there holding 1500 revs till temp guage moved up to minimum let her tick over and went out she ran perfect its a sensor but i dont know wich one coud be head temp or water temp or ? another that sends message to ecu sorry to be a pest i may have to take it to someone but i can usualy sort things i just rebuilt engine on john deer tractor ( no stupid sensors ) is this progress i wouldnt touch the wifes new carThanks for your help
its worth a try but today fuel level in tank went below half and it ran awfull i filled to the top and it ran well ,i wonder if its sucking a bit of air on tick over but better when revving im going to inspect the filter fitting ,long shot but hey hoPower Loss in a 2009 Puma - VCV?
Hi I'm looking for some pointers on how to change a VCV on a 2009 Puma if anyone can help me out please? I've had a strange loss of power that occasionally happens. It usually doesn't put on any warning lights but recently the engine management light came but after sitting for a week it...www.landyzone.co.uk
Checked. 2.4 does not have an in-tank pump. The high pressure pump (on the engine) incorporates the low pressure pump.I think the 2.4 has an in-tank pump as well as the pressure pump on the engine - but that might be the 2.2 model - will check later.
ill change filter tomorrow i fitted the one on it in november i recall it was hard to push up and turn maybe just maybe the locating lugs may not be lined up ,the tank was full to top to save priming and next day it ran perfect but got worse as tank level went down it might be getting a bit of air on tick over and ok when revvingChecked. 2.4 does not have an in-tank pump. hi windblower just thought id let you know the problem i had we changed fuel rail pressure sensors and valve on the pump then had to do a relearn with computor dont know witch one was causing problem so changed the three to delphi parts it took a bit of starting after but eventualy got it running seems ok now after a week of driving bloody nightmare but thanks to your imput i spoke to a transit chap who said its a common fault with them so fingers crossedI do recommend filling the filter with fuel before fitting it. Otherwise there will be a lot of air in the fuel system - unless you bleed it of course.
yea haynes defender manual says you cant change pressure sensors on common rail you must replace whole rail but transit manual says you can same engine i think LR tell them that so to make on spare parts . future reference for other parts ehhi windblower just thought id let you know the problem i had we changed fuel rail pressure sensors and valve on the pump then had to do a relearn with computor dont know witch one was causing problem so changed the three to delphi parts it took a bit of starting after but eventualy got it running seems ok now after a week of driving bloody nightmare but thanks to your imput i spoke to a transit chap who said its a common fault with them so fingers crossed
