hi all what should the idle speed be with a weber carb? It's about 550rpm ( it's not very smooth )at the mo, that's seems to me to be to low, the Dynamo isn't charging at that speed as well. How is the idle adjusted
Thanks all :)

Usually by the throttle stop screw.
Operate the accelerator linkage and have a look for a screw attached to it.
600rpm is probably better .I used to adjust so that on level road at tick over you could drive along at slow pace with all feet off the pedals.

Lowest idle that sounds good to you. I believe the spec is 800 RPM (but i don't have manuals in front of me at the moment). Personally, I go for what sounds correct rather than a number.

Ooh I did reply to this, it's disappeared!
Thanks for the replies guys :)
I found the idle screw, it is wound all the way in, ie it won't push the carb leaver anymore, so I will need to extend the throttle linkage I prosume

Does it run ok otherwise? Check the carb throat by taking air pipe off. But a low idle is ok on a 2.25. They aint too fussy!
