Hi,

Replaced fuel filter, primed system, wouldn't start, so primed injector pump through both vent screws. Landy started, all good.

Switched it off, nipped up all bolts that I'd touched, air vent screw on control cover snaps off...

As irrelevant as it is now I wasn't putting anywhere near the torque it should have been able to take through it but I guess it is 26 years old and not been touched very often. The part that has broken is the big hollow bolt that the bleed screw screws into. It broke where the thread turns into the head of the bolt (just above the brass washer). I managed to remove the remaining thread in the control cover but when I tried to thread a same-thread bolt in to blank it off as a temp. measure it turns out the thread in the cover is goosed as well.

So what I'm wondering is what is the best way to go about fixing this? I don't wanna drill and tap a new thread in situ as it will fill unfiltered fuel with swarf..a new pump is £250 odd, can I get a cover seperate? Any Ideas?

Cheers, Ben
