Hi,

I've managed to start my beast today for the first time in months - as normal she spits out loads of white smoke on startup which calms down a little after 30 or so seconds. The smoke is white.

I was looking around the engine bay and noticed that when it is running and the oil filler cap is removed a small amount of smoke is coming out, which again, is white.

what does the problem sound like and how easy is it to fix?

ps. She is a 1972 series III, and a beauty!

Thanks in advance,

Matt

put your finger in the oil filler hole and see what colour the crap is in side if its brown gooey ****, wash the filler cap out with white spirit or petrol

i live nr swansea 2 places ricketts radiators in swansea, and the place i use is in carmarthen 35 +vat to do my rad and that was fitting a new core

cheers i'll try them - i am very supprised that they could do a series rad for about a third of what most others would charge

i've seen mention of rickits on a bike site and someones said they did a couple of tiny rads for a yz250 for 60 ish quid - cant see how they could do a much much bigger and thicker series rad for half that

i'll try rickets on monday

cheers
