just so you know, the fuel injection pump belt and the ancillary belt are also changed at 48k......
 
Out of interest, what have people paid to have these done?

Mine cost £400 parts and labour - I got half a dozen quotes locally from LR "approved" repair shops and independents and there were broadly similar. The indies claimed that although their hourly rate was cheaper, they reckoned it would take 7-8 hours labour to strip everything down.

Based on the £200 cost mentioned elsewhere, sounds like all of the dealers had got wind of what LR charge and price matched it :mad:
 
You don't need to remove the engine to change the belt, just support the engine and remove the engine mount that's in the way of the timing belt, this gives enough room to change it. The guy said its not that hard.
