Hi all, please forgive me if this has already been posted( I've searched forum threads to no avail ) my M and S lights are flashing and I have the code 1A solenoid valve. Does anybody know what this means the M and S lights only come on when you go to pull away then it feels like a clutch is slipping ( it's and auto box) before it goes into limp home mode. Is my gearbox knackered? Any suggestions welcome.

Only advice i can give is look for some simple daft obvious fault, dont jump in and think your box is shot.
Suggest that to a garage and they will only be to glad to fit you a new one.

Start reading from here untill the end Dreaded m and s fault (limp mode) your problem is quite similar but in the worst case it can be the MV1 solenoid failed too then it's a valve block off job and replace solenoid... see this too Help needed

Ok thanks guys for the info. So to update I have had fault found and repaired, it turned out to be the wiring loom from the X,Y Z switch to where it plugs in under the centre console, the pins in the connector were all green and there were 3 areas along the loom where it had rubbed through to bare wires. The local Land Rover specialist where I lived fixed it and haven't charged me as unfortunately my drivers front wing and door were damaged while they had the car. All credit to them for owning up, they are also having this repaired for me free of charge.
