I bought a 2000 Disco TD5 GS Auto last October and I have to say I have been most impressed with the ride quality of the air suspension and the kids love it as it has the headphone sockets in the rear so they can listen to their CD's.
The only things I have had to do so far is as follow are:-
1. Replaced front anti roll bar link arms as they were worn.
2. New shock absorbers all round as they were still the originals and were very tired.
3. New discs and brake pads.
4. Had the front bumber repainted and then some dopey young female with her boyfriends car reversed into me and broke the plastic, she offered to pay for the damage. It cost her £350 quid, no doubt she panicked as she had only passed her test that same day and her boyfriend had no idea she had borrowed his car.
5. Engine oil and filters plus air filter replaced as the service book showed that it had been serviced 4 weeks before I bought it. Checked with garage that stamped the service book and they had no record of a service been carried out. So be warned? The previuos services before that were LR dealer so they had a record. Changed the coolant as well.
6. Front and rear diff oil replaced.
7. Passenger front wheel hub replaced due to knackered bearing.
8. Near side headlight replaced due to a stone chip last week. Going to order up headlight protectors.
9. The 3 amegos appeared on the dash ABS/TC/HDC. Purchase the nanocom diagostic unit. Driver front ABS sensor falt. Replace sensor and cleared the fault. The nanocom also showed a number of stored engine faults which are now cleared.
10. Front sunroof leaking. Removed headlining and resealed front and rear sunroofs.
That is the list so far. I have still to do Auto and tranfer box oil change and that will be the lot.
I have also had a few rattles which have turned out to be broken clips.
Not bad for the past few months, but still love it and it annoys the missus as she will not drive it due to its size.
