I'm fed up with having my P38 stuck on the drive, it's a 1997 2.5 DT with the manual box. It's been resprayed black at some point, the bonnet looks awful (looks like someone has gone over it with a brillo pad!) but the rest of the car isn't too bad. It's a bit grubby inside too, but again, not horrendous.
I went to MOT it and it failed on 3 things (split balljoint cover - now glued back together, coolant leak from the rad - rad replaced and a bit of welding on one of the inner sills, all welded up). Once I'd repaired these and went to drive it back off the car ramps, the clutch pedal went straight to the floor with no resistance. I'd already bought another car, so had to swap the insurance over to it before I could get this one sorted and back for the retest. Bled the clutch and that is now ok, although the bite is quite far towards the bottom of the pedal travel, may just need more bleeding, may need a new master/slave cylinder.
When the rad was leaking, it also broke down internally and the gearbox fluid mixed with the coolant. The gearbox has had the fluid drained and replaced, but there will be some oily residue left in the coolant system - worth mentioning just in case anyone has a look in and thinks the HG is gone!
When I went to move it the other week, the battery had gone flat and the keyfob has now gone out of sync. I can't get it to re-sync, it's in my way and I have lost all interest in it. Anyone on here interested in it at £300? For that price I'll throw in the set of 18" wheels (the split 3-spoke type) as well as the 16s that are on it. I also don't have the EKA code (called the local LR dealer in Derby and they were going to ring me back... That was 2 or 3 weeks ago and they haven't as yet!)
Before the problems, it ran very well - loads of history from the early years (including a top end engine rebuild at 90k miles, now on 168k or so). It's on air suspension, and that all works as it should.
Car is in Ilkeston, Derbyshire - not far from J25/J26 M1
