Ok this is for my mates 300tdi 1997 P.
Car started to overheat, no water loss just temp gauge through the roof.
So far its had / been replaced by us and the local garage:-
3 themorstats
1 water pump
1 head gasket
1 recon head
core plugs checked and sealed
heater matrix by-passed
new belts
new fan coupling
new temp sensor.
4 months later the problem is still there, the car interior freezing (ok I know heater matrix has been bypassed) temp gauge goes to red and will use 5 litres of water within 5-8 miles. NO SIGN of exterior or interior water loss. Oil is still black as the ace of spades. No miss fire or running problems.
Now the garage has even given up, PLEASE SOMEONE, ANYONE. HELP!!!!
