So, first issue im faced with this car ,
From getting it the key fob only unlocked the car, not armed it.
Not a problem as locking it with the key armed everything.

Seems to have stopped alarming or imobilising it it now (does turn on automatically after a while so they do work), central locking works fine.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Cheers

Setting the alarm is simultaneous with central locking the fob or the key, although the alarm is only active after seven or so seconds as indicated by the fast LED flash changing to a slower one. The unlocking and unsettling the alarm is with the fob only.

Immobilising of the engine is passive so sets its self, remobilising is when unlocking with the fob or placing the fob close to the ignition switch.

So if that's not happening u have a problem, how to fix it , test to find out what's wrong? Faulty fob or its battery but could control unit/s maybe.

Usualy, when locking it with the key, the lights on the car flashed and the alarm light flashed quicky as it should.

Now the car doesnt flash any lights (headlights ect) or the alarm light, at first it took an age for it to finally engage the alarm (slow flash)

Checked just, and it just doesnt flash the headlights/fast alarm light but does get to the the slow flashing alarm light after the 7 seconds.

So alarms working fine now, and imobilising fine, not really sure whats wrong with it but im happy aslong as its alarmed.

I posted in another thread, I was having loads of issues with my 300 tdi es, under dash on passenger side ( above footwell) there is a green box fastened to the drop down relay tray. I changed this and all is 100%. You do however need the fob to go with it cost me 20 quid.

The headlights don't flash the indicators do.

But if the indicators don't flash on unlocking its a sign of a weak fob battery so just replace the battery.
