Hi everyone I have a p38 range rover and the battery died so I charged it up and now the key fob is not working properly I have tried the eka thing and only the driver door locks and unlocks and then the alarm beeps when opening and closing the door and dash displays engine disabled press remote or enter key code can any one help
 
Either you are not doing the EKA process properly, or your doorlock contacts are shot and the BeCM cannot see your code entry.
What year is the Rangie? Putting the key in the barrel should re-synch the key on a late-model variant unless it has got way out of step in which case EKA entry by key or Nanocom is required.
When you try entering the EKA do you get any responses (flashing sidelights or dash messages)?
When you say you have tried the EKA thing, what is it specifically you have tried..... as per the owners manual......exactly?
 
It's a 1996 I did get the side light on the dash flash when I was entering it I did the key in door turning 4 times the turning the code in each way for each digit

  1. Using the ignition key insert it into the drivers door lock.
  2. Turn the key anticlockwise to the locking position and back to the central position 4 times.
  3. The first digit – Turn the key fully, as far as it can go, clockwise to the unlock position (only the drivers door will unlock) then back to the central upright position. This should be done the amount of times as the first digit on your security card.
  4. The second digit – Turn the key fully, as far as it can go, anticlockwise to the lock position then back to the central, upright position. This should be done the amount of times as the second digit on your security card.
  5. The third digit – Turn the key clockwise to the unlock position again, the number of times shown on the security card
  6. The fourth digit – Turn the key anticlockwise to the lock position again, the number of times shown on the security card.
  7. Once this has been completed turn the key to the unlock position once.

So.... just to confirm........
Start.....key turned to locked & back to vertical four times. <<Tells the BecM you are now going to enter the EKA Code>
Then <1st digit> entered in the unlocked (clockwise) direction and back to vertical for each time.
Then <2nd> digit entered in the locked (anti-clockwise) direction and back to vertical for each time.
Then <3rd> digit entered in the unlocked (clockwise) direction and back to vertical for each time.
Then <4th> digit entered in the locked (anti-clockwise) direction and back to vertical for each time.
Finally, Turn once to unlocked and all the doors should unlock and the car "should" be re-mobilised.
It is very important to make sure you deliberately and carefully execute each key-turn AND back to vertical (and no further).
The doorlock contacts do go dodgy with age & use.
The flashing of the side-repeaters or the dashboard lamp (depending on how the system was set up) are your only indications that your entries are being seen.
If they are not consistently being seen then you will need a Nanocom to re-mobilise the engine.

The way it come up on Google was start anticlockwise will try it the way you said and see if it works thanks
 
ok, that's because it has seen an invalid key code (but at least it is seeing some digits).
It locks out for 30 minutes each time.
If you know you have screwed up during EKA entry (happens to all of us mate), open and close the drivers door (it cancels the EKA/Lock-out process) and you can start from the beginning again with no 30-minute penalty.
