Hi
Warning light saying door open but it is closed.
Because the car thinks the door is open the suspension does not rise.
I have seen threads saying its the little unit in the door thats faulty and either replace this or you can earth wires, is this the best way to go?
Not sure whats best to do, anyone got experience of this?
Thanks:confused:

Micro switch in door latch is the obvious answer. Or look at the connectors behind the trim panel at the base of drivers side "A" post.

Broken wires between the A post and the door is another thing to look at as a last resort.

I appreciate this thread was a long time ago but I’d like to share my experience with a 95 RHD 4.0L auto. I acquired the beast 5 years ago with issues that I’ve mostly fixed. It came with the Drivers Door not unlocking on the fob. Not an issue with more important stuff to put right until a couple of weeks ago I got the drivers doors not closed warning. This condition as you know is a pain that can’t be lived with. Being an intermittent fault it’s difficult to track so I thought I’d start at the beginning and replace the latch assembly. A new one arrived from Bearmach after handing over £250. I reasoned it was worth it as it would/could fix the remote locking at the same time. New parts fitted and both issues resolved........ for an hour! Door ajar warning and central locking not working. I went out this morning and drivers door wouldn’t unlock on remote so used the key. Once inside and door closed, engine started there was no door warning. I’ve check on two more occasions this morning and all ok. It will go wrong again when I refit the door card. I’m thinking these 2 systems share a common Earth? or is there something else I should be looking at?

I operated the door lock using the fob and opened and locked the door several times. I started the engine and checked the door ajar warning wasn’t present, all good. I opened the door and gave the wiring loom from the A pillar a wiggle. Problem now back. Wiggled a few times to see if I could replicate the intermittent nature but couldn’t. I think it’s safe to say it’s in the A pillar to door loom somewhere.
I’ll have a look when/if the rain stops and report back

So....... I removed the gater between the A pillar and door as carefully as possible cutting with a scalpel so I could refit with Tesa tape later. On inspection the wires were in good order. On wiggling the wires a “clicking” from the outstation could be heard. I held the harness at the door then the A pillar while wiggling. There were more clicks when I held the door end of the harness. There are a couple of connectors inside the A pillar, one of which to my old eyes looked to be a little corroded (green) at a couple of the wires. I pulled the connector apart a few times hoping to clean the connectors a little till I can get some contact cleaner. I pushed the connectors back in the A pillar but still heard clicking though much less. The central locking and door warning operate as they should, for now......... I’ll update should the situation change. The white/black and yellow/blue appeared to be the offending wires.

I’m sure it would be Mark but I thought I’d try contact cleaner in the plug which I did this morning while it was dry and sunny. Without wanting to tempt fate I’ve put it back together...... so far so good but that’s only a few cycles of the mechanism.

Thanks for lending an ear!

Your welcome ;)Both the kick panels jn both foot wells have more blocks that really should be removed and soldered up carefully. They were only for assembly at the time and serve to only catch water from the pollen filters that drop water down into the heater motors....

There is someone or somewhere yes but Ive no bloody idea kiddo. Start a thread with "hevac repairs" as the title.
That'll bring in the answers ;)
