One started off as no start and came to sync conclusion.

Second started with how to perform the sync as the documentation seemed a little contradictory, if not confusing.

Placed answer in both for completeness. Don't like loose ends!

So many threads on same car a good point. I reckon I've spent more time working on it than driving it. The only car I spent more time working on was a VW Scirocco (mk 2) but it is fast catching up!
