hi. as above i fitted a 1995 disco v8 3.9 serpintine engine and autobox and fitted it into my 1994 200 tdi defender 90. i took the engine out the disco complete with loom, to take the loom through the bulkhead i removed the ecu and 2 multiplugs- one brown and one white. the white one looks like its for all the instuments and the brown one is for the power to the ecu. i cut the brown multiplug and put each wire (7 in total) in connector block. i renewed the coil, leads, plugs,, dizzy cap and rotor arm. its got a good spark- not as good as it could be but enough to run on easy start. the problem is that it will not run without the easy start. the fuel pump comes on for for a few seconds when i turn the ignition on and come back on when i turn the engine over. after turning the engine over for about ten seconds and failing to start when i take out the plugs they are dry. i have half a tank of fuel and fuel comes out the "tyre valve" thing on the rail. because the pump comes back on when im cranking the ecu must be getting the signal to operate the injectors because that is the only way it would know its turning as i used the original starting wire from the loom from the 200 tdi. could the ecu be fried. is their anyway way to see if the injectors are getting the signal.
